Is this a regular dating app?

No. There’s no flirting and no “just chatting” here — the goal is nikah. Disrespect or unserious intent means a ban.

Who can see my profile?

Only verified users inside the app. Profiles are never published on the website and never indexed by search engines.

How does the mahram take part?

There is always a witness — the only question is who. A sister adds her own guardian from among her mahrams: father, brother, uncle, son. Until she has one, the service stands in: a moderator reads the chat, and the chat says so plainly, so nobody assumes a relative is present when he is not. Once her own guardian is added, he takes that place. Before the first message a brother writes to the guardian: who he is, why he chose her and what his intentions are. Both the guardian and the sister herself read it — much is clear from it before a word is exchanged.

How long does moderation take?

Usually a few hours — profiles are checked by people, not an algorithm. Sometimes a little longer, but that’s what keeps bots and fakes out.

Why can’t we exchange phone numbers?

Conversation stays inside the Service — that is how a guardian can see it and how it stays protected. Numbers, usernames and links may not be passed on, including spelled out in words or shown in a screenshot: the message will not go through, and after two warnings access is closed.

What if we speak different languages?

The Service translates for you, into all thirty-two languages of the app. Another person’s profile and incoming messages reach you in your language, you reply in your own, and the original text stays alongside — the witness sees it too. Emails and notifications arrive in your language as well.

Who can see my photographs?

Before a mutual like nobody sees faces — a blurred preview stands in for the photograph. On a mutual like the photographs open for both at once: liking back is itself the consent to be seen, and nothing needs to be pressed separately. A sister photograph does have to be of her, but showing the face is not required: a niqab, a shot from behind, a dim frame are all fine. For a brother it is different — his face must be visible, because a sister decides by it whether to carry on. Cards, quotes, landscapes and drawings pass for nobody.

We ask about it in the profile itself: a married brother states which wife he is seeking, and a sister states whether she would enter such a family. You see this before the conversation starts, not halfway through it.

How do I cancel my subscription?

The subscription renews automatically on the side of the Telegram service Tribute and can only be switched off there: the @Tribute bot → “Open” → your profile at the top left → “Subscriptions” → your subscription → “Cancel Subscription”. The period you have already paid for runs to its end.

Can I have no photo at all?

Yes. Your profile then carries a “no photo” mark in the search: nobody is left waiting for a picture, and on a mutual like the chat opens right away. That is more honest than putting up a quote card — a brother is expecting to see a person either way.

Why does a chat cost money?

The first chat is free — but it is one per account, not one per person: enough to try things out. After that a chat costs 99 ₽, or opens with a PRO subscription. Only the brother pays; for a sister chatting is always free. The payment is not for messages but for seriousness: a sister replies to someone who did not come out of boredom. If the other person never replies, the payment returns to your balance on its own — nobody pays for silence.

What if I do not have Telegram?

You can sign in without it: with Google, with a code sent to your email, or by phone number. It is the same profile either way — signing in later by another method with the same verified address takes you back into it rather than creating a second one.

I deleted my profile. Can I come back?

Yes. Your data waits for thirty days: open the app and press «Restore» — the profile, chats and balance are all still there. We send a reminder as the deadline nears. After thirty days everything is erased for good, and there is nothing left to restore.

How well protected are my photographs?

A photo does not sit at a direct address you could forward: the link to it is signed and short-lived, and before a mutual like the other side sees only a blurred preview. The moderation team’s access to its tools is protected separately, and backups are kept encrypted. If you close your profile, the photos stop being shown at once.

Why is it better to show your photo right away?

Without a photo you are judged by lines of text. People send interest blindly, photos open only afterwards — and the one who is not drawn to what he sees simply goes quiet. Silence reads as offence, though nobody is at fault: it is the order itself that puts the face last. A photo changes that: interest is sent already knowing how you look, so the agreement is genuine from the first step. There are fewer conversations, but each one is real. There is little to fear: the face stays closed until mutual interest, the feed shows only a blur, every view carries its own signature, and each copy is marked with the viewer number. You can also close your photos to one person while staying matched.

I used to sign in with my phone number — where is that button?

Sign-up by phone number is closed, but signing in still works for those who already used it. The button is gone from the sign-in screen so that newcomers do not create profiles through it: open nikah.ummalife.com/?phone_login=1 — it is the same screen with the number field.
