Umma Nikah

About us

Umma Nikah is a matchmaking service for Muslims, part of the Umma Life ecosystem, built for one purpose: to help you meet a spouse and enter into nikah.

Why we exist

Finding a spouse who shares your faith is harder than it looks: on ordinary dating apps the intention to marry gets lost among everything else. We built a space where that intention is the condition of entry, not a line in a profile.

The service works inside Telegram and in the browser. There is no separate app to install: you sign in with Telegram, with Google, by phone number or by a code sent to your email.

How it works

  • A profile covering what actually matters when choosing a spouse: prayer and Quran, hijab, marital status, children, plans for marriage.
  • Browsing profiles and mutual likes. A conversation opens when the interest is mutual.
  • The guardian: a conversation happens with a witness. A sister adds her own mahram, and until she has one the service acts as the witness — a moderator reads the chat.
  • An appeal to the guardian before the first word: a brother writes who he is, why he chose her and what his intentions are. Both the guardian and she herself read it.
  • Moderation: profiles and complaints are handled by real people, and violators are blocked.

Our principles

  • Meeting for the sake of marriage, not for casual company. Anything that leads elsewhere has no place here.
  • Respect for privacy: profiles are not public and are visible only to signed-in members of the service.
  • Honesty about money: you pay only for what you use, with no hidden charges.

What costs money

Registration, filling in your profile and browsing profiles are free. Opening a conversation, the PRO subscription with unlimited chats and TOP placement are paid. Current prices are always shown in the app at the moment of purchase.

How we review profiles

Every profile passes through a human before it appears in search. A moderator checks whether this is a real person, whether the photographs match the profile, whether the text hides contacts or advertising, and whether what is written fits the purpose of the service. Automation only assists — a person decides.

A review usually takes a few hours. If a profile is rejected we say why and let you fix it: a rejection is not final. Photographs of someone else, collages, pictures taken from the internet and images with no person in them do not pass — they tell the other side nothing about who they would be talking to.

How blocking decisions are made

We do not block on a single complaint, and we do not block silently. A moderator reads the complaint, reads the whole conversation and decides. Minor breaches — an attempt to pass a contact, rudeness, insisting after a refusal — earn a warning, and warnings accumulate. Deception, insults, attempts to extract money and behaviour that puts sisters at risk end access straight away.

A decision can be challenged: write to @NikahApp_support and it will be reviewed afresh. We make mistakes too — when we do, we restore access and say so plainly, without excuses.

What we do not do here

  • No advertising. The only income of the service is payment for its own features.
  • We do not sell data or hand it to third parties for advertising. What is shared, and with whom, is listed in the privacy policy down to the last item.
  • We do not give profiles to search engines. No profile is indexed, and the app sections are closed in robots.txt.
  • We do not pad the feed. There are no bots here and no messages from people who do not exist.

We are small — and we say so

The service is young, and there are fewer profiles here than in the large apps. We could stay quiet about it, but we would rather say it: you are joining a small community where everyone came for nikah and every profile was seen by a human. It grows more slowly — but not at the cost of letting in those who do not belong.

Who is behind the project

Umma Nikah is part of the Umma Life ecosystem, a social network for Muslims. Matchmaking for nikah is one of its directions, so the service is run by a team with a long track record in Muslim online communities rather than by an unrelated startup.

The founder and owner of the project is Isa Dagestani — personal site: 1sa.me.
